The Dirrrrrty Shreve Bucket List

I'm only 2 months away from my big move to Chicago and couldn't be more excited, however, there are still some things I need to do here before I leave.

I MUST.....

  • eat unheard of amounts of crawfish at The Crawfish Palace
  • see a movie at Robinson Film Center
  • create something fabulous at Painting With A Twist
  • eat as many Humphrey Yogart's as I possibly can from Counter Culture
  • take my nephews camping
  • visit Janet & her family in Lafayette
  • spend the night with my Nana
  • have a girl's slumber party at Toya's house
  • make sure each student I work with knows that I think they're fabulous and I'll miss them
  • have a garage sale
  • kidnap my sister and take her on a sister date
  • spend a lazy Sunday afternoon and/or sneak in after-hours at Betty Virginia Park
  • spend a day at Louisiana Downs with my Dad
  • have a girl's night out with those crazy Vivian girls (Aubrey, Sharon, Jamie & Thandi)
  • have a girl's night out with Sharon & Peyton
I am determined to cross each of these off my list in the next 59 days. After I complete these, I'm going to work on my Life Bucket List with moving to Chicago crossed off the list first!

What's on your bucket list?

NYC - DAY 5 (or, MoMA? Yes, please!)

Sunday Funday!

First stop was a great flea market on the upper west side. Then, on to brunch at, Calle Ocho , with the fabulous Cavol and Brain and the equally fabulous all-you-can-drink sangria bar! :)  After brunch, we visited the, The Museum of Modern Art , and it was more amazing than my mind can comprehend.  Literally, one of the most amazing experiences of my entire life!  I stared and practically drooled over original paintings of van Gogh, Matisse, Warhol, Pollock, Monet, Kahlo and Picasso.  We didn't even get through the entire museum because we were all exhausted. My poor little mind needed and miniute to catch-up and process the gravity of what I was seeing

Stunning. Breathtaking. Magnificent.

The rest of the day we shopped, walked (a lot!), laughed (a lot!), ate street nuts (another story for another time!) and visited Brian's ridiculously cute apartment.  It was the perfect close to a fantastic trip!

Side note: It should also be noted that today was the day that one Toya Tucker introduced me to the Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks.  My life has been forever changed for the better. Amen and Amen.

NYC - Day 4

The weather was perfection (Toya would disagree with this statement as she is ALWAYS freezing, even in 106 degree weather, but, I digress). The sun was shining and happiness was flowing abundant! We met up with the fabulous, Brian Kholer, and ventured down to Union Square for a little shopping at Nordstrom Rack and an outdoor market.

Isn't he the cutest?

After Union Square, we explored Chinatown and made our way to the Lower East Side, where Cavol and Claudia joined us for brunch at a delicious spot, Essex House.

Jerry & Toya looking at bootleg bags! Scandalous!

Toya's improtu photo shoot

After brunch and one or twelve (depending on who you're referring to) mimosas, we walked over to the West Village to look around.  While we were there, Jerry suggested we walk over to Perry Street and see the stoop that they used to film Carrie's apartment in Sex and the City.  So, we did just that.  Good times.

But, wait! We walked over two blocks and but who to our wondering eyes appeared??

Sarah Jessica Freaking Parker.  What the what?!?!  Seriously, she was out with her nanny and her twins for an afternoon stroll. We walked right past her but not before snapping a picture to document the occasion.  The best part of the entire experience was when Jerry passionately ranted about how difficult it must be for SJP to have paparazzi following her and making her life hell, etc. and then 5 minutes later when he found out I had taken a picture of her, immediately yelled, "Yes! Upload that shit now and let's sell it to TMZ!"

Later (much later....these crazy peeps don't even leave the house until midnight or after) that night, we got ready and went out with Jerry and his friends, but not before a photo shoot with my favorite guys!

So many other amazing, hilarious and wonderful things happened as well but it would take me years to blog about all of it.  Let's just say it included but was not limited to the following:

  • Brian unsuccessfully looking for a GAP and a pretzel all day (hilarity of epic proportions)
  • Misha advocating for a limo (or, as he would say, lee-mo) ride for only 4 blocks
  • Boob grabbing
  • Cheetos, Swiss Rolls, Brownie = TUMTs
  • BLT & Cajun Turkey on a roll from the Bodega at 3am
  • Barkin' Dogs (heels are not the best idea when you have to walk 46 trillion miles in Manhattan)
  • Dancing (on the table!)
  • Meeting Toya's friend from high school, Tiffany
Word. :)
